2nd Quarter Tournament Began March 4th, 2012!!

1. The rules are the same at all JPA tournaments. Any cheating or suspected cheating will be dealt with severely & immediately, with disqualification & potential banishment from future play at all events. Excessive foul language (to include, but not limited to, "F" bombs), eruptive displays of anger (to include, but not limited to, throwing cards or chips) and derogatory remarks made in an abusive manner will not be tolerated.

2. Players must be a minimum age of 18 years old. Some locations require players to be 21 years old. Call the location for info.

3. New players will be assigned a valid player number by the Tournament Director when they arrive at the game location and will receive a bonus 500 chip. If an established player brings them, that player will also receive the 500 bonus. All players should have a valid player number. Players must have a number to participate in the major tournaments.

4. Player start with 1450 in chips. Any player may donate up to $3 to the prize pool. For each dollar, they will receive a bonus 500 chip. This must be done within the first 15 minutes of the game start time. If a player makes a purchase at the venue of at least $5, they will receive a bonus 500 chip. Some games are run as a "Deep Stack" game and the purchase bonus will be 1500 in chips. These bonus chips must be awarded within the 1st hour of the game. The player to receive the bonus chips may not be out of chips, all in, or in the middle of a hand. Any other promotional bonuses are limited to one per person per night (i.e. if you bring two new players, you will only receive one bonus chip). Bonuses may not be shared.

5. Games are played with blinds, not antes. The following structure will be used:

10/20 30 minutes
20/40 30 minutes
50/100 30 minutes
100/200 30 minutes
200/400 20 minutes
500/1000 20 minutes
1000/2000 20 minutes
2000/4000 15 minutes
Blinds double from here on every 15 minutes


6. Players will receive points based on their finish each night at each location. These points will accumulate at each location & citywide. To assure proper credit of points, players should sign in and out with their Player Number. Failure to do so may result in a loss of points. Points are awarded depending on how many players you outlast, for example if you outlast 20 players, you get 20 points. 1st place gets a bonus of 50 points, 2nd place gets a bonus of 30 points & 3rd place gets a bonus of 10 points. Ex. If 1st place outlasts 20 players you get 20 + 50 = 70 points. Players who end up 4th through 10th place only get points for the amount of players they outlast. If the game is played with less than 8 players, there will only be 25 bonus points awarded for first place.

7. All JPA Citywide Tournaments will be held at participating JPA locations.

8. After 6 weeks, the Midway Tournament will be held. The top 40 players in the City as well as the 1st and 2nd place Player at each location are eligible to play. Absolutely NO SUBSTITUTIONS are allowed for players unable to attend the Midway Tournament.

After 13 weeks, players in 2nd place through 10th place from each participating location and top 41 thru 50 Citywide may participate in a 2nd Chance Tournament. The top 10 players with earn a position in the Finals Tournament!

The top 40 players in the city as well as the 1st place Players at each location are eligible to play in the 13 Week Finals Tournament. Absolutely NO SUBSTITUTIONS are allowed for players unable to attend Finals.

Any player that receives points during the year, will qualify for The JPA Annual Tournament to be held in January each year.

In the event of a tie, both players will be eligible.

9. When locations don't run the full 13 week period, a determination will be made by JPA of how many Players will go to the 2nd Chance Tournament. JPA reserves the right to move points to another location in the event of cancellation during a tournament. If this occurs, then all points will be combined with existing points at that location.

10. All player donations will be used for funding prize pools, promotional prizes and gift card giveaways.

11. At the Finals tournament, the Player with the most points Citywide at the end of 13 weeks will receive a $150 bonus Visa gift card, 2nd Place in the city will receive a $100 Visa gift card & 3rd Place will receive a $50 Visa gift card.

15. 1st place at the Finals Tournament will receive approximately $2,000. 2nd through 10th Place will receive proportionately less than 1st Place, with 10th Place receiving the least. If the amount of donations exceeds $5,000 minus the value of all other prizes awarded, additional places will be eligible for prizes. If donations exceed $6,000, 1st place will be increased by 10% & will continue to increase by 10% for every $1,000 in donations over $6,000. If possible, JPA will payout 13th place & beyond depending on the amount of donations collected until all donation money is paid out. Left over donations under $50 will be rolled over to the next tournament.

16. There will be ABSOLUTELY NO SPLITTING or CHOPPING of Prizes by JPA at the Final.

17. Players who win $600 or more may need to show identification and tax information will be required. JPA will mail Tax Form 1099 to those players no later than January 31st of the following year.
